Minimal user role: contributor

• Either go to the group page your new specimen should be part of and click on ‘Specimen’ in the ‘Create Content’ menu on the right sidebar or hover over 'Specimen' in the 'Content' menu to the left and click on the plus icon which appears to the right.

• Enter the required data. If you don’t know the codes or if there
  isn’t a ‘catalogue number text’ you have to make them up. A combination
  of the two codes and the catalogue number will be used to identify the
  specimen in the species panels for example. Therefore each ‘catalogue
  number text’ should be unique. For the collection code I usually enter 'Diptera' and for the 'catalog number text' an abbreviation of the species name and a number, like "Mad_glab_1"

• Enter as much data as available under ‘Identification’, ‘Collection information’, ‘Miscellaneous’ and ‘Location’.

• Submit.
