Meoneura lamellata Collin, 1930

Diagnostic description: 

3 dc; halter knob yellow white; body densely gray microtomentose.

Taxon biology: 

Found in dunes and sandy banks and is probably restricted to open shore habitats. Larvae and imagines are known from the nests of various birds (Nordberg 1936). On the German bird island Mellum, M. lamellata was found on bird's exrements, pellets, and on carrion with a maximum flight activity at the end of May and beginning of June (Brake 1997).

Distribution: 

Iceland to Russia: North European Territory, south to France and Hun­gary; Algeria, Russian Far East; Alaska.
