SUMMARY

Small to large flies, varying from 3.5 mm to about 20 mm long. Legs very long, slender. Wing slender, sometimes colorless, or yellowish or even blackish with various patterns of spots and bands of dark brown. Body color varying from yellow or reddish to brown or black, sometimes variegated with bands, and sometimes with patterns of grayish pruinescence. (Steyskal 1987)
