Diagnostic description:
Papp (2013) did not find any closer relative than M. triangularis Collin, 1930 (a Holarctic species). However, the surstylus of M. triangularis is really triangular with acute though not sharp apex. Setae on caudal sub-basal part of surstylus seem somewhat longer and thicker than in M. triangularis. (Papp 2013)
