Thereva strigipes Loew, 1869
Diagnostic description:
Thereva strigipes is distinguished from similar species throughout most of its distribution by the reddish brown ventral and black dorsal cuticle of the femora (specimens from Yukon and Northwest Territories have entirely black femora). Males of T. strigipes have tergites 6-7 almost entirely covered with yellowish grey tomentum. Females of T. strigipes have the central area of frons shining, with straight lateral and ventral margins; ventral margin of shining area indistinctly delineated.
